The artists of the baroque period were the artists of the Renaissance period, as their art reflects the artistic taste of the period which was between 14th and the late 15th century. The artists were influenced by the great art style of Italy, which was dominated by the most famous Italian artist of all time, Michelangelo who was born at the town of Siena in 1475.

Giorgio Vasari is another Italian painter whose work is inspired by Michelangelo. It is believed that both Vasari and Michelangelo first met during the Renaissance period when Vasari visited the city of Siena which was then under the reign of King Francis. The two artists then spent many hours talking about the art that they both had in common and that eventually inspired the works of both artists. In fact the works of both artists are often considered as a part of a unified whole.

The best known of these artists in this period was Giorgio Vasari, who would go on to become a famous painter of the Baroque period. Giorgio Vasari was born at the city of Siena in the province of Tuscany and was educated in the art schools of Florence and Venice. His art work included many religious and secular paintings. Vasari's works were greatly influenced by Michelangelo and they can be considered as his 'lost' masterpieces. These paintings are now housed in museums all over the world.

Another of the famous artists from the era of Vasari and Michelangelo was Giovan Vannelli, who was born in Florence in 1478. He began his career painting portraits of the Medici family, which was done for their first Pope, Cosimo II. After being appointed to paint the Sistine Chapel ceiling Giovan Vannelli would continue to paint religious works including the Last Judgment.

In the Baroque period Giovan Vannelli would paint many of his best known and most popular paintings, including the Last Judgment, Virgin and Child, and the Lady of Sorrows. Giovan Vannelli was also very much influenced by Michelangelo, who influenced his art work to include many religious paintings in his work, including the Last Judgment. and the Madonna of Avila.

Another of the famous artists from this period is Giuliano Vasari, who was born in 1497. Giuliano Vasari was a member of the Medici family and so it was not surprising that his work would have been highly influenced by the Medici style and also by Michelangelo.

Giuliano Vasari was also the first artist to apply the use of shadow in paintings which would become a common technique in paintings of the Baroque period and would become the style of Giuliano Vasari and his brother Antonio who would go on to become one of the greatest painters of the Renaissance period. The technique was applied by Giuliano Vasari to paintings which would appear in his paintings and would later be called as Vasari shadow paintings. His art would also feature many other techniques such as watercolors, which would use different colors and tones that would allow the painting to appear to move.

The other most notable artist from this period was Antonio Geminucci who was also born in 1483. He was a famous Italian painter and would become a painter of the Baroque period but was also famous for his style of drawing.

Another of the most famous artists from this period was Jacopo d'Angelo who was also a member of the Medici family. The style of the paintings that he made is largely influenced by both the Medici and the Giovan Vannelli styles.

Giovan Vannelli and Giuliano Vasari are two of the most famous artists from the Baroque period who were both hugely influenced by Michelangelo and who both went onto create paintings of great importance during the Baroque period.
