After studying architecture, Arata Iyengar went on to become a consultant architect specializing in sustainable architecture, as well as a member of the board of directors of the International Society of Architects in Tokyo. In addition to his role with Iyengar, Isozaki also consults for a number of companies and organizations, including IBM, Nissan, and Mitsubishi.

Arata Iyengar has been called the leading architect of the 21st century. He is widely acknowledged as one of the world's top contemporary architects, having earned widespread recognition for his innovative design and construction of office buildings and other structures throughout the world.

Many of the buildings and structures Arata Iyengar designs are designed to be energy efficient. He was awarded the 2020 European Energy Prize for the same reason. His designs feature green roofing materials, efficient lighting, and the use of renewable materials such as bamboo and terracotta to create an eco-friendly environment.

Iyengar is a firm believer in creating a living city that is environmentally sustainable. One of his main goals is to create places in which people can live without feeling dependent on the electricity grid. He also seeks to create places where people can have access to the natural resources they need to be healthy and active. His plans have led him to design office buildings that are built with as few as possible carbon emissions.

Iyengar is also committed to the preservation of the urban environment by designing buildings that promote walking and social interaction. This is reflected in his design of the Gion district in Kyoto, which includes green parks, public open spaces, and a large network of parks.

Iyengar is also an advocate of the integration of a variety of design styles in building designs. The result is a city in which everything is both functional and beautiful. In an interview with the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, he said that the goal of the Gion district is to provide a place in which “people can live and enjoy and see the town with all its contradictions.”

Arata Iyengar is an innovator who not only believes in the beauty and utility of his architecture, but also believes that people must also have the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature. His goal is to create a city where the residents live and work together in harmony, and to keep them there by helping them learn about the natural environment.
