Chinese architecture is unique from western architecture in many aspects. Gong is another word for 'palace' in Chinese. Totally dissimilar from the religious structures of west, gong has been the greatest creation of Chinese architectural arts.

From the time when the Shang dynasty took the first step in building, Chinese have been fascinated with the art. In the beginning, it was a place for royal residence, official meeting place and temple, later on evolved into the place just for the emperor and empress's living alone. The use of the word 'gong' in ancient times has nothing to do with the use of the word today.

The concept of 'gong' in the language of old was the term that could be used for the best part of the architecture in the ancient times. The meaning of the word can still be understood today. In Chinese culture, the word 'gong' can refer to the palace. The palace is where the imperial family resided, where they made arrangements for marriages and births, where they met to perform their duties, and where they also played games like janggulu or qi gong.

China has been a proud home to the earliest architects and artisans who were known to have been born in the Shang Dynasty. The architects who worked on the first buildings and structures are called as yue guan in the language of Chinese.

Chinese architects have always kept the basic designs and styles of the early Chinese civilization. These basic designs and styles have been adopted to make the buildings that we see now and have been used to make the great palaces in China.

The most important structures in a building is the main gate. In Chinese architecture, the gate is considered the entrance of the palace. In fact, when you enter the palace, you will see that the entrance is placed on top of the palace. As you go inside, the gate is always at the left side of the entrance and is open.

The structure of the entrance to the Chinese palace has an important function. The entrance is the only means of entering the palace so if there is no gate, the person must take a long staircase.

Gates are used in Chinese architecture to keep out thieves and burglars. In order to keep the people from entering the palace and stealing the wealth and belongings of the king or empress, the gates are very high. They are usually made up of solid wood. As soon as the gates are closed, the king or empress may take a quick break from her duties to relax and have a nice tea.

Doorways are a very important part of the architecture of a building. In Chinese architecture, doors serve two purposes: to allow people to enter or to prevent people from entering. The doors in Chinese buildings are made up of wooden frames and they are painted with red, white, and black.

Doors are also important because they give a sense of security. If your home is in a very busy city, you will notice that there are many security doors that are not painted. with red, white and black but with the colors of the city. The city may seem safer because of this.

You should not feel uncomfortable if you have doors painted with red, white and black because the interior decor is very bright and cheerful. The doors will also let light into the room, which is very soothing. This is what the city should have because the city will be full of people. When the interior of a building is bright and welcoming, it will be full of people, excitement and energy.

Chinese architecture is a very traditional style. It uses traditional and ancient techniques to make its buildings. The use of these techniques is what gives the building's the feeling of being very old but still new and modern at the same time.
